THE EXPERIENCE BEHIND THE CONSULTING OFFICE

Four people engaged in a discussion at a meeting, with one woman standing and speaking, while three seated individuals look on with smiles.

What sets Lisa apart isn't just what she's done. It's also how she thinks.

She has a rare ability to see inside an organization, identify what's holding it back, and find the strengths that are already there waiting to be used. She works with both the business as a whole and the individuals within it, because she knows that lasting change doesn't come from a new strategy alone.

It comes from people who are aligned, engaged, and clear on their role in moving things forward. That is the foundation the consulting office is built on, and it shapes every conversation Lisa has with every client she works with.

Meet Our Founder

Lisa brings more than three decades of hard-won experience to every engagement, as a leader, an entrepreneur, and a trusted advisor to organizations navigating meaningful change. Get to know the person behind The Consulting Office.

  • Lisa Cruickshank has spent more than 35 years building, leading, and advising — not from the outside looking in, but from the inside of organizations where the stakes were real and the decisions mattered.

Her career has moved through corporate leadership, entrepreneurship, and consulting — spanning communications, operations, and organizational development. For many of those years, she built and led a multi-award-winning agency, growing high-performing teams and guiding clients through decisions that shaped their financial futures. In one of her most senior corporate roles, she led a national restructuring initiative spanning a $45-million budget and more than 75 professionals.

She has also given back beyond the boardroom — serving as board chair and president in the arts and nonprofit sectors, and mentoring entrepreneurs and emerging leaders through community initiatives. Her work has been recognized with national performance awards and community honours including Businessperson of the Year, the Leading Women award, and the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Award.

Today, through The Consulting Office, Lisa works alongside leaders navigating their own pivotal moments — bringing the same grounded, strategic presence she has built over a career that spans every side of the table.

  • Lisa's work starts with a straightforward premise: the best strategy in the world only delivers results when the people responsible for it are set up to succeed.

That belief shapes every engagement. Rather than arriving with a prescribed solution, Lisa takes time to understand how an organization actually works — its strengths, its pressure points, and the dynamics that don't always show up in the org chart. From there, she builds a path forward that is both strategically sound and genuinely executable.

Her approach draws on Gallup's CliftonStrengths framework, which she uses to help leaders understand what their teams do best — and how to build on that, rather than around it. The result is alignment between strategy and the people delivering it: organizations that move forward with both clarity and confidence.

  • Lisa believes that leadership is not a title — it's a practice. And that the most effective leaders are the ones who stay curious, stay grounded, and never stop investing in the people around them.

Lisa has seen firsthand that change is not something organizations simply manage - it’s something leaders and teams must navigate together. When it’s approached that way, the path forward becomes clearer for everyone.

At the heart of Lisa's work is a commitment to meeting leaders where they are: with honesty, with structure, and with the steady belief that most organizations already have more to work with than they realize.

WHAT WE KNOW ABOUT STRONG ORGANIZATIONS

Strong organizations are not built on good intentions alone.

They are built on clear strategy, the right people in the right roles, and leaders who know how to bring both together.

That is what The Consulting Office has spent decades learning. Not in a classroom, but in the real work of leading teams, managing through difficulty, and helping organizations find their footing when the path forward wasn't obvious.

That experience is what makes our approach to change management consulting different.

We don't arrive with a generic framework and a stack of recommendations.

We start by understanding your people. Because in our experience, most organizations already have the talent they need.

That is where strengths-based science comes in.

As a Gallup Certified CliftonStrengths coach, Lisa uses strengths assessments as a practical leadership tool. One that helps your team understand how they work best and helps your organization build around that.

The result is not just a stronger strategy. It is a team that actually executes it.

THE RIGHT PARTNER CHANGES EVERYTHING

The Consulting Office was built for leaders who are ready to move forward. If that's you, let's talk.
